Job summary

Rohit Group seeks a Safety Advisor to develop, implement, and improve policies in the Rohit Health and Safety Management Program. You will lead staff and contractors to achieve safety objectives and maintain program compliance.

The role focuses on conducting site visits, maintaining safety records, and supporting COR and JHSC activities to promote a safe work environment across sites.

Qualifications

• Associate's degree or better in Occupational Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Ensure ongoing compliance of the Rohit Health and Safety Management Program.
• Maintain safety administration, including safety reports and MSDS.
• Conduct site visits and inspections and correct non-compliance issues.
• Assist in maintaining COR.
• Assist with safety inspections and reporting requirements.
• Participate in accident investigations and corrective actions.
• Follow up on corrective actions to ensure issues are resolved.
• Participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
• Assist in creating/revising Safe Work Practices and Safe Job Procedures and training materials.
• Promote the “Caught Working Safe” program.
• Provide coaching and mentoring on safety issues.
• Organize safety training and maintain training records.
• Distribute health and safety information to site teams and trades.
• Fleet management and maintenance oversight.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job description

The Safety Advisor is responsible for developing, implementing, and continuously improving the policies, procedures and practices outlined in the Rohit Health and Safety Management Program. Through guidance and leadership, the Safety Advisor will work with staff and contractors to achieve and maintain health and safety objectives.

Essential Functions

• Ensure ongoing compliance of the Rohit Health and Safety Management Program.
• Maintain safety administration, including safety reports and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS).
• Conduct site visits and inspections and correct non-compliance issues.
• Assist in the maintenance of our Certificate of Recognition (COR).
• Assist with the completion of health and safety inspections and reporting requirements.
• Participate in the investigation of accidents and injuries and subsequent corrective actions.
• Follow up on correction actions to ensure issues have been resolved adequately and in a timely manner.
• Participate as a member of the Joint Health and Safety Committee (JHSC).
• Assist in the creation and revision of company Safe Work Practices and Safe Job Procedures (SWP and SJP) as well as safety training materials.
• Promote the “Caught Working Safe” program.
• Provide coaching and mentoring related to safety issues and concerns.
• Organize safety training for staff and maintain training record.
• Distribute health and safety related information to the site teams and trades.
• Fleet management and maintenance oversight.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
