Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes in South Woodslee, ON is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) for a temporary part-time daytime role to support medication administration, treatments and assessments. You will participate in multidisciplinary meetings and uphold nursing standards in accordance with College of Nurses of Ontario, Long-Term Care Standards and Southbridge policies.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
• Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Current First Aid and BLS certificate.
• Knowledge of nursing practices and infection control.
• Excellent communication and collaborative skills with the care team.

Responsibilities

• Ensure resident care adheres to nursing standards, physician orders and policy; observe and record vital signs.
• Assess residents and develop, implement and review care plans; monitor health and refer to doctors as needed.
• Organize and direct care activities including restorative and palliative care; implement policies and procedures.
• Plan, supervise and evaluate staff; train new personnel and participate in ongoing education.
