Job summary

Southbridge Care Homes is seeking a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) to join Garden City Manor in St Catharine. The successful candidate will assist with medications, treatments, and assessments, and participate in multidisciplinary meetings to uphold nursing standards.

Responsibilities include planning and supervising care, updating resident plans, and ensuring adherence to infection control and regulatory standards. Ability to work collaboratively is essential.

Qualifications

• Current certificate of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
• Registration or eligible for registration with the Registered Practical Nurses Association of Ontario.
• Current First Aid and BLS Certificate.
• Comprehensive knowledge of nursing and health care practices, infection control.
• Effective human relation skills and ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• A negative vulnerable sector check completed within 6 months of start date.
• Completion of a 2 Step TB Skin test within the last 12 months of start date.

Responsibilities

• Ensure resident care is provided with established nursing standards and policies.
• Assess residents and develop, implement, review and evaluate care plans.
• Organize and direct care functions including restorative and palliative care.
• Plan, direct, supervise and evaluate work of nursing staff and train new personnel.
