Job summary

UniFirst Canada is seeking a Route Trainee to begin a rewarding career in service and customer care. You will train through a hands‑on program while supporting daily operations, learning multiple customer accounts, and progressing toward a full‑time Route Service Representative role.

You’ll assist with deliveries and route coverage, operate a company walk‑in truck, and work in variable indoor/outdoor environments. This paid training path emphasizes safety and customer focus.

Qualifications

• Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
• High school diploma or CAEC is required.
• Strong customer service skills with ability to work independently.
• Prior experience in customer service, route sales or delivery is a plus.
• Tech-savvy and quick to learn new technologies.
• Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and stay on your feet for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Participate in UniFirst’s Service Certificate Program to prepare for an RSR role.
• Support daily operations by loading/unloading route trucks with accuracy.
• Deliver clean garments to customers and return soiled items on schedule.
• Provide route coverage when needed during RSR absences.
• Operate a company walk‑in truck on designated routes with safety in mind.
• Work in both indoor and outdoor environments with energy and attention to safety.
• Contribute to service department success and strengthen customer relationships.
• Maintain a predictable Monday‑Friday daytime schedule with no nights or weekends.
