Job summary

Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta-based Bunge is seeking a Production Technician to safely operate and maintain canola oil and meal production processes. You’ll monitor equipment, ensure safety and quality standards, and support startup/shutdown activities with minimal supervision.

Requirements include Grade 12, Alberta Class 5 license, and Fourth Class Power Engineering Certification or higher. The role features a 12-hour rotating shift and competitive starting pay of 37 CAD per hour, with

Qualifications

• Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license (or equivalent).
• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
• Fourth Class Power Engineering Certification or higher is required.
• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, processing, or production environments is considered an asset.
• Strong commitment to safety, quality, and environmental compliance.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently and make sound operational decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities.
• Ability to work rotating shifts, including days and nights, with schedules changing as required by business needs.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor plant processes and equipment through routine inspections and HMI systems.
• Maintain compliance with all safety, environmental, quality, and housekeeping policies and procedures.
• Make process adjustments to achieve production, quality, and efficiency targets.
• Identify and communicate operational issues that may impact safety, product quality, production, or equipment reliability.
• Collect, label, and manage required product and process samples.
• Support plant startup, shutdown, and turnaround activities while minimizing downtime and product loss.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of prep plant, extraction plant, and steam plant processes and equipment.
• Work collaboratively with operations, maintenance, and contractor personnel to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Complete accurate operational logs, production reports, and shift documentation.
• Demonstrate initiative and sound judgment while monitoring and controlling plant operations with minimal supervision.
• Participate in rotational assignments between the Prep Plant and Extraction Plant to develop operational knowledge and skills.
• Perform other duties as required.
