Job summary

Hyatt Regency Toronto is hiring a Room Attendant to provide a clean, comfortable, and sanitized environment for guests by servicing rooms per Hyatt brand standards and safety guidelines. The role supports delivering an exceptional guest experience.

Key duties include changing linens, cleaning bathrooms, dusting, vacuuming, and restocking supplies, with strong emphasis on guest interaction and safety. Shift work, including weekends/holidays, is required.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of cleaning experience in a hotel or related industry preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and management.
  • Strong organizational and problem‑solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks including standing, bending, pushing carts, and lifting up to 70 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and prepare assigned guest rooms in accordance with brand standards.
  • Make beds with fresh linen and replace guest supplies.
  • Dust furniture, lamps, shades, and fixtures; vacuum carpets.
  • Clean, wash, and dry bathrooms; report maintenance issues.
  • Greet guests promptly and courteously in line with Hyatt service culture.
  • Safeguard master keys and hotel property; report Do Not Disturb signs.

Job Summary

The Room Attendant is responsible for providing a clean, comfortable, and sanitized environment for all guests by servicing guest rooms in accordance with Hyatt brand standards, health and safety guidelines, and hotel procedures. This role plays a key part in delivering an exceptional guest experience.


Compensation


  • Starting wage: CA$22.03/hour during probation

  • After probation: CA$27.54/hour


Key Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

The Room Attendant is responsible for cleaning and preparing assigned guest rooms in accordance with applicable brand standards. Duties include, but are not limited to:



  • Removing all rubbish from waste bins and ashtrays

  • Making beds with fresh linen

  • Dusting furniture, lamps, shades, pictures, doors, and fixtures

  • Vacuuming and spot‑cleaning carpets

  • Cleaning, washing, and drying all bathroom areas

  • Replacing guest supplies in rooms and bathrooms

  • Washing paintwork and doors as requested by the Floor Supervisor

  • Reporting linens or bedding requiring replacement

  • Assisting guests courteously, including removal of trays or newspapers

  • Collecting and returning worksheets, HotSOS devices, and keys each shift

  • Reporting rooms with Do Not Disturb signs or those not requiring service

  • Safeguarding master keys and hotel property

  • Reporting malfunctioning equipment, maintenance needs, or safety hazards

  • Reporting suspicious activity to Security

  • Handling lost and found items in accordance with hotel procedures

  • Ensuring guest room doors are properly secured

  • Maintaining cleanliness and proper use of housekeeping equipment

  • Greeting guests promptly and courteously in line with Hyatt service culture

  • Performing other duties as assigned by management


Working Conditions


  • Shift work including weekends and holidays may be required

  • Hours of work and overtime are managed in accordance with the Ontario ESA

  • Meal and rest periods provided as required by law
