Job summary

Andromeda Robotics is seeking a hands‑on Robotics Technician to build, test, and maintain Abi’s hardware in the lab and workshop. You’ll work with actuators, sensors, and embedded electronics to ensure reliability for real‑world deployments.

You’ll diagnose issues, run diagnostics, solder components, and document results while collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to push continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Diploma, trade qualification, or Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, or related field or equivalent hands‑on experience.
• 2+ years of experience in a robotics, mechatronics, or hardware workshop environment.
• Strong practical skills in assembly, wiring, soldering, and troubleshooting electro‑mechanical systems.
• Comfortable using lab tools such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation.
• A structured, methodical approach to testing and problem‑solving.

Responsibilities

• Assemble, calibrate, and test robotic subsystems including actuators, joints, and sensor arrays.
• Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repairs across electrical, mechanical, and embedded systems.
• Support engineers in validating new hardware and software integrations.
• Maintain robots used for development, demos, and customer deployments, ensuring uptime and reliability.
• Document processes, test results, and maintenance logs to feed into continuous improvement.
• Work closely with mechanical, electrical, and software engineers to solve integration challenges on the ground.
