The City of Brampton is seeking a Construction Technician to provide frontline inspection, support and resolution of resident concerns and contractors related to Road Occupancy and related permits. The role requires CET eligibility, a Civil Engineering Technology background, and a valid driver’s license.

Reporting to the Supervisor, State of Good Repairs, you will coordinate contracts, perform inspections, review plans, and ensure city standards are met.

Qualifikationen

• High School graduation plus a 2–3 year Civil Engineering Technology program or equivalent.
• Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) certification or eligibility to obtain.
• Valid, non-probationary Class G Driver's License.
• Experience with roads, permits and construction oversight preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication and customer service skills.

Aufgaben

• Coordinate Road Occupancy, Access Permits and Right-of-Way contracts.
• Oversee contracted snow clearing operations and related permits.
• Analyze construction contracts, prepare contracts and supervise project performance.
• Conduct precondition and during-construction inspections.
• Respond to inquiries and compile documentation for claims and litigation.
• Review plans, traffic controls and site plans within right-of-way.
• Provide QA testing oversight and coordinate with internal/external stakeholders.
