Job summary

City of Edmonton is seeking an Engineering Technologist I in Development Services to independently perform quality assurance audits on civil construction projects city-wide and assist senior technologists with CCC and FAC inspections.

You will evaluate compliance with municipal standards, inspect developer-built assets such as roads and utilities, and provide field guidance to resolve issues while mitigating long-term liability.

Qualifications

• Two-year diploma in Engineering Technology is required.
• Eligible for CET with ASET.
• Minimum two years of roadway construction experience.
• Experience auditing municipal infrastructure or developer-led servicing agreements.
• Familiar with municipal road construction methodologies and QC procedures.

Responsibilities

• Audit private developer and utility projects across grading, road construction, lighting, and utilities.
• Process CCC and FAC applications and review as-built plans.
• Provide field technical guidance and resolve discrepancies in the field.
• Support inspector guidelines and design specifications updates.
• Collaborate with contractors and consultants to verify asset quality.
