Job summary

Bercon Rentals Inc. is a family-owned Canadian equipment rental company serving Ontario with a focus on safety and service excellence. This role entails maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a range of rental and customer equipment.

Travel to customer sites is required; for this position, you will document work orders, assist in training junior technicians, and help with equipment and parts logistics.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years heavy equipment experience
• 2+ years aerial equipment experience (JLG, Genie, or equivalent)
• Proven candidate for a heavy equipment service technician role
• Strong ability to read and interpret schematics/diagrams

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on rental and customer equipment.
• Travel to customer job sites for repair and maintenance; keep service vehicle clean and professional.
• Assist in training lower level technicians as needed.
• Maintain paperwork/electronic work orders daily.
• Assist with pickup and delivery of equipment and parts.
• Other duties as required.

• Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment
• Travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner
• Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed
• Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis
• Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts
• Other duties assigned as required

Skill and Qualifications

• Level 3 Apprentice 421A preferred or equivalent work experience
• Heavy Equipment experience of 3-5+ years related experience and 2+ years aerial experience specifically JLG, Genie or equivalent
• Posses a valid Heavy Equipment Service Technician License and at least 3-5 years of related experience
• Experience in customer service
• Have strong mechanical background knowledge with various engines and hydraulic systems
• Have a good understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Exhibit teamwork
• Employees are expected to own the tools applicable to position.
• Knowledge of equipment from brands such as Skyjack, JLG and Genie is an asset
• Ability to test equipment up to 180 feet in the air; Work from Heights safety training is provided
• Position supports all of Ontario, however, applicant home location should be within 1 hour of the Bercon Hamilton, ON shop

Pay ranges provided may be adjusted outside communicated range based on a number of reasons including geography, skill level and experience. Individuals may be eligible for a discretionary bonus. Management reserves the right to determine any bonus payment.
