Job summary

Toromont Material Handling is seeking a Field Service Technician, Heavy Equipment to travel to customer sites in a Toromont Service truck, diagnose and repair Caterpillar equipment, and uphold high service standards with integrity.

The role is to work near Kingston, Ontario, offering full-time permanent employment with a competitive compensation package and opportunities for training and advancement within a leading equipment dealer network.

Qualifications

• Licensed Technician or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems (24V–80V).
• Solid understanding of internal combustion engines.
• Ability to read electrical and hydraulic schematics.
• Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work independently.
• Strong troubleshooting skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Experience with forklifts or material handling equipment is considered a strong asset.
• Bilingualism, English and French, is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair a wide range of equipment: Electric forklifts (batteries, motors, controllers, electronics), Internal combustion units (propane, gas, diesel engines), Hydraulic and mechanical systems.
• Use OEM diagnostic software and advanced tools
• Perform preventative maintenance to manufacturer standards
• Deliver excellent customer service in the field and shop
• Diagnose mechanical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment and leveraging top tier technical skills
• Maintain quality workmanship to repair Caterpillar equipment within the established time standards out in the field
• Maintain excellent communication and trusted customer relationships through regular on site visits

Toromont Material Handlingis looking for a Field Service Technician, Heavy Equipment to go directly to customer sites in a Toromont Service truck and provide superior service and product expertise to maintain high standards that ensure repairs are completed in a timely manner with the utmost integrity.

**This position is to work near/out of Kingston**

Pay Type

Full Time, Permanent

Compensation

$42.65 to $49.02
