Job summary

AgeCare is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) at Monashee Mews, Lumby, BC to work with the Director of Care and deliver safe, ethical resident care within the nurse's competency. The role promotes a culture aligned with AgeCare’s mission—respect, teamwork, quality, and the rights of residents, families, and staff.

The RN coordinates nursing and other services, leads shift reports, and documents resident changes, ensuring timely communication and compliance with provincial standards.

Qualifications

• A sound knowledge and background in geriatric, rehabilitation or long-term care nursing including activation, nursing, and personnel administration.
• Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
• Knowledge of the Long-Term Care regulations and related acts affecting nursing home operations.
• Registration and membership in good standing with provincial registry.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates nursing and other services for residents within the neighbourhood and with other services within the residence.
• Leads shift report with health care team members, ensuring team informed of resident status changes.
• Records significant changes in residents' condition and ensures chart documentation complies with policies and standards.
• Reviews and processes physician orders promptly and communicates difficulties to appropriate leadership.
