Job summary

Timmins and District Hospital is seeking an RN/BSW Crisis Worker for its Mobile Crisis Rapid Response Team and Emergency Department. You will perform acute crisis assessments and interventions, collaborate with police and agencies, and coordinate care for clients in crisis with sensitivity to culture and language.

Experience in mental health/addictions, crisis intervention, and teamwork is essential. Bilingual English/French abilities are preferred, with shifts including weekends as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nursing Diploma/Degree with a certificate in Mental Health and/or Bachelor of Social Work.
• Current registration in good standing with the regulatory body (CNO, CSWSSW).
• Minimum 5 years recent acute Mental Health and Addictions experience.
• Crisis intervention skills for telephone and in-person situations.
• Knowledge of inpatient and community resources for mental health/addictions.
• Ability to function in a multi-disciplinary health care team.
• Proficiency in Crisis Intervention assessment and data collection.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute crisis assessment and intervention in the community or ED.
• Collaborate with TPS and other agencies as part of MCRRT.
• Conduct psychosocial assessments and plan effective interventions.
• Coordinate services with community agencies and inform changes as needed.
• Maintain exemplary public relations and inform community about resources.
• Deliver brief intervention, consultation and follow-up as required.
• Demonstrate leadership, judgment, and diplomacy in high-pressure settings.
• Ensure bilingual service delivery in English and French when required.

RN/BSW - Crisis Worker – Mobile Crisis Rapid Response and Emergency Department

The mobile crisis worker in conjunction with the Timmins police officerwill provide acute crisis intervention to community members in a timely , client/family focused approach.Emphasis will be placed on assessment, education, prevention, health maintenance,and restoration of health in a supportive and culturally sensitive manner. The team will further provide individualized supportto assist in the resolution of their personal or emotional crisis. When required,MCRRT staff will be scheduled to provide crisis intervention services withinthe Emergency Department as part of the internal crisis team.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
