Qualifications

Are you an experienced risk professional who enjoys strengthening enterprise risk programs, evaluating internal controls, and helping business leaders make informed decisions?

We are partnering with a well-established Canadian financial institution seeking a Senior Risk Analyst to support the execution and continued enhancement of its Enterprise Risk Management program.

Reporting to the Manager, Enterprise Risk Management, you will contribute to risk oversight, control testing, risk assessments, policy development, issue remediation, and reporting for senior management, the Board, and its committees.

As a member of the second line of defence, you will work closely with partners across the organization to identify and assess risk, evaluate the effectiveness of controls, provide thoughtful and constructive challenge, and improve risk management practices. Your Responsibilities

Support the execution, oversight, and continued enhancement of the organizations Enterprise Risk Management program.

Assist with maintaining and updating ERM frameworks, policies, procedures, and practices through regulatory and industry research.

Provide guidance, advisory support, effective challenge, and system training to business participants involved in Risk and Control Self-Assessments, Third-Party Risk Assessments, Incident Management, and Model Risk Management.

Develop a strong understanding of the organizations business model, structure, operations, and risk environment.

Build trusted relationships with business partners and serve as a subject-matter resource for enterprise risk management.

Contribute to clear and effective risk reporting for senior management, the Board, and its committees.

Monitor and identify notable changes in risk management KPIs, KRIs, exposures, and emerging trends.

Support the assessment of risks and exposures against Board-approved risk appetite statements and policies.

Evaluate the adequacy of internal controls and work with business units to strengthen control and risk management practices.

Contribute to risk management control-testing programs, including documenting findings and preparing testing reports.

Work with control owners to develop appropriate remediation plans for identified issues.

Track, monitor, and validate the remediation of findings arising from control testing and risk assessments.

Contribute to Risk Management Department projects, process improvements, and enterprise initiatives.

Independently prioritize and manage multiple assignments while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and sound judgment.

Skills and Qualifications

A bachelors degree in finance, accounting, audit, business, or another related discipline.

At least five years of experience in risk management, internal audit, controls, or a related function within the financial-services industry.

A strong understanding of enterprise risk management principles, methodologies, and the three-lines model.

Experience conducting risk assessments, evaluating internal controls, or performing control testing.

Direct experience supporting an Enterprise Risk Management program is considered an asset.

Experience with RCSAs, KRIs, risk appetite monitoring, incident management, third-party risk, or model risk is an asset.

Previous experience preparing risk reporting for executives, senior management, the Board, or Board committees is an asset.

Knowledge of Canadian banking operations, credit unions, the Bank Act, credit-union legislation, or related regulatory requirements is an asset.

A professional designationor progress toward onein risk management, accounting, internal audit, or finance is an asset.

Strong analytical and critical-thinking skills, with the ability to translate complex information into practical recommendations.

Excellent relationship-building, advisory, and stakeholder-management abilities.

The confidence and professional judgment to provide credible, constructive challenge to business partners.

Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities with limited supervision.

Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
