Volatus Aerospace is seeking a Revenue Accountant to join our Alberta team and ensure accurate revenue and billing processing. You will collaborate with Sales, Operations, Flight Operations, Maintenance, and Corporate Finance to support revenue recognition, AR, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance.

This on-site role in Alberta offers exposure to an aviation environment and opportunities to partner with cross-functional teams on strategic financial decisions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • CPA designation or working toward CPA is an asset.
  • Experience with NetSuite or another ERP system.
  • Public company experience is an asset.
  • Experience in aviation business is an asset.

  • Own the day-to-day revenue and billing process.
  • Review contracts, pricing and billing terms to ensure invoices are accurate.
  • Support revenue recognition in accordance with IFRS and policies.
  • Prepare revenue reports and analysis for management.
  • Analyze revenue by customer, contract and service line.
  • Act as on-site finance contact for Sales, Operations and Maintenance.
  • Assist budgeting, forecasting and business performance insights.

COMPANY OVERVIEW

Volatus Aerospace is one of North America’s leading aviation and aerospace organizations, providing aerial surveillance, pipeline integrity monitoring, geomatics services, remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS), charter operations, and tourism flights across North America with bases throughout Canada and in the USA. As part of our continued growth, we are seeking a Revenue Accountant to join our Alberta team and support revenue, billing, accounts receivable, financial reporting, and operational decision‑making.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Revenue Accountant will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timely processing of revenue and billing activities. Working closely with Sales, Operations, Flight Operations, Maintenance, and Corporate Finance, this position will support revenue recognition, accounts receivable, financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and business performance.

This is an on‑site position in Alberta and is well suited to an accounting professional who enjoys working closely with operational teams in a dynamic aviation environment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Revenue & Billing
  • Own the day-to-day revenue and billing process.
  • Work with Sales and Operations to ensure all completed services are accurately captured and billed.
  • Review customer contracts, pricing and billing arrangements to ensure invoices are accurate and in accordance with contractual terms.
  • Identify and accrue unbilled revenue and perform revenue completeness and cut‑off procedures at month‑end.
  • Analyze revenue by customer, contract and service line and identify potential revenue leakage.
  • Support revenue recognition in accordance with Company Accounting Policies and IFRS.
  • Prepare revenue reports and analysis for management and Corporate Finance.
  • Analyze actual revenue against budget and forecast and investigate significant variances.
  • Provide insight into revenue trends, customer performance, contract profitability and billing activity.
Accounts Receivable & Collections
  • Follow up with customers on outstanding invoices and resolve billing‑related issues that may delay payment.
  • Work closely with Sales and Operations to resolve customer disputes and collection issues.
  • Identify opportunities to improve billing and collection processes and reduce days sales outstanding.
Operations & Business Partnership
  • Serve as the primary on‑site finance contact for Sales, Operations, Flight Operations and Maintenance.
  • Develop an understanding of the financial drivers of the aviation business, including aircraft utilization, flight activity, fuel, maintenance, labour and other operating costs.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting and operational decision‑making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial visibility and business performance.

Perform other duties and responsibilities as may be reasonably assigned by the Company from time to time.

HOURS OF WORK AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
  • The position is an onsite role, and the Employee is required to perform their duties primarily at the Company’s designated workplace, as directed by the Company.
  • The standard work schedule consists of forty (40) hours per week, typically performed Monday to Friday, subject to operational requirements.
  • From time to time, the Employee may be required to maintain reasonable flexibility in working hours to support operational needs, time‑sensitive activities, or business priorities.
