Job summary

Job description

Uniform Works, powered by GALLS, is seeking a Branch Manager for our new Greater Toronto Area location.

Reporting to the Senior Director of Operations, any candidate for this position must have a passion for gaining product knowledge, details, numbers, as well as be an exceptionally organized person. To be successful in this role, multitasking and strong problem-solving skills are essential.

The Branch Manager will be responsible for a wide variety of tasks, including, but not limited to:

  • Responsible for providing an operations plan and providing monthly updates, revisions and modifications to the plan.
  • Collaborate with all Uniform Works functional teams to develop and implement branch strategies and practices.
  • Collaborate with the sales and contract management teams to ensure branch can perform and satisfy customer expectations.
  • Accountable for meeting or exceeding shipment targets, labour and profitability goals.
  • Collaborate with inventory management team to maximize the return on inventory investments.
  • Develop and implement consistent operating processes that are aligned with the national branch operations strategy.
  • Effectively operate and maintain a distribution warehouse supporting regional branches in Western and Eastern Canada.
  • Oversee regional contract development and management activities.
  • Monitor stock levels and identify purchasing requirements.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of both clothing and equipment.
  • Conduct daily inventory analysis to manage inventory discrepancies.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures.
  • Prepare reports and present branch performance data to the executive team.
  • Assist in selection, development and evaluation of team members. Establish and manage performance goals for each team member and provide regular performance feedback.
Qualifications
  • Proven ability to manage all aspects of a branch operation.
  • Experience leading, coaching and developing a team.
  • Proven track record in managing and tracking branch expenses and profitability.
  • Strong computer skills – Microsoft Office Applications, Excel, Outlook and Word. Additionally, experience in Oracle NetSuite is preferred.
  • Specialty industry knowledge preferred in law enforcement, fire, private security, or military sectors, with experience in uniform apparel, apparel decoration, and sewing functions considered a strong asset.
  • Able to contribute to strategic planning process and show knowledge about opportunities/risks for the business.
  • Possess decision making skills; able to assess issues and resolve any problems.
  • Demonstrate flexibility and ability to multi-task.
  • 4-year degree or equivalent preferred.
