Job summary

Royal Drugs in Ottawa is seeking a Retail Pharmacy Assistant to join our team for a 6-month contract. You will support pharmacists in dispensing, maintain patient records, and provide excellent customer service at the cash area.

The role requires attention to detail, strong computer skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. The position is full-time (6-month contract) at the Royal Drugs Ottawa location, with a starting wage of CAD 20.20 per hour.

Qualifications

• Pharmacy Assistant diploma and/or minimum of 2 years full time pharmacy experience.
• Kroll data entry is a strong asset.
• Retail pharmacy experience is a strong asset.
• Bilingualism is an asset.
• High attention to detail and accuracy required.
• Must have computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform all technical aspects of dispensing prescriptions, including receiving orders/refills, procuring information, computer entry, preparation and labeling.
• Identify and refer clinical questions to pharmacists and management questions to the pharmacist manager or on-duty pharmacist.
• Maintain current and accurate patient profiles.
• Complete records, documentation and billing/charges; prepare receipts and invoices; general filing.
• Demonstrate excellent customer service at the cash area.
• Handle cash register and credit/debit card usage.
• Scan and file prescriptions.
• Assist Pharmacy Manager and pharmacists by answering patient inquiries over the phone.
• Perform duties as assigned.
