Job summary

Royal Drugs in Ottawa is seeking a part-time Registered Practical Nurse to support injections, post-care instructions, and patient education across multiple clinics. This role requires travel to satellite sites such as Smith Falls and Cornwall, with a typical schedule of ten clinic days per month (eight in Ottawa).

The ideal candidate is a licensed RPN with strong communication and organizational skills, able to work with Retina Specialists and pharmacy teams to ensure safe patient care.

Qualifications

• RPN in good standing with Ontario College of Nurses.
• Pharmacy or healthcare knowledge is an asset.
• Willingness to travel within Ottawa area; driver's license and own vehicle required.

Responsibilities

• Sterile preparation of patient prior to intravitreal injection including tonometer for IOP findings.
• Provide necessary drops and topical anesthetic.
• Answering questions and offering post care instructions to the patient.
• Consulting with Retina Specialists regarding findings during preparations.
• Candidate must be willing to travel to multiple clinics in the area.
• Completing PSP enrollment forms.
• Managing medication stock counts.
• Communicating with pharmacy technicians to ensure proper coverage is in place.

Purpose:

The Registered Practical Nurse assists injections, drops & topical anesthetics within multiple clinics. They assist the customer by answering questions and providing post care instructions.
