Job summary

Loblaw Companies Limited in Halifax is seeking an Asset Protection professional to strengthen security across our grocery and pharmacy environments. This frontline role focuses on preventing theft, deterring policy violations, and safeguarding people and property in a high-volume setting.

You will investigate incidents, collaborate with law enforcement as needed, and work with store leadership to reduce shrink while complying with provincial regulations.

Qualifications

• Valid Provincial Security Guard License
• Understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada
• Understanding of the Trespass to Property Act and related legislation
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
• Strong communication, professionalism and integrity
• Experience in grocery/pharmacy or high-volume retail is an asset

Responsibilities

• Protect and deter theft, fraud and policy violations with a visible in-store presence
• Apprehend offenders safely and lawfully following procedures
• Conduct investigations and collaborate with internal teams and law enforcement as required
• Reduce shrink by identifying loss trends and implementing prevention strategies
• Support store operations with policy compliance and provincial regulations
• Adapt to a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a flexible schedule
