Job summary

Kibbi in Grande Prairie, Canada, is seeking an experienced carpenter to join our construction team. You will read blueprints, prepare layouts, measure and cut materials, and build floors, walls and roofs while adhering to building codes.

The role requires 5 years or more of carpentry experience, no formal degree, willingness to relocate, and the ability to work 40 hours per week with potential on-call shifts. Valid driver's licence and safety gear are expected.

Qualifications

• No degree required
• 5 years or more experience in construction/carpentry
• Willing to relocate to various locations in Canada

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, drawings and sketches to determine work requirements
• Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
• Measure, cut, shape, assemble and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel and other materials
• Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring and erect walls and roof systems
• Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings and hardware
• Estimate costs and materials
• Measure, cut, fit and install drywall sheets
• Install metal stud framing and furring for interior drywall or plaster walls and ceilings, using hand and power tools
