Job summary

Optima Living is seeking a Recreation Manager to plan and deliver engaging wellness programs that support resident well-being across seven dimensions. Reporting to the General Manager, you will lead a recreation team, ensure safety and compliance, and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams and families to enhance quality of life.

The role focuses on developing diverse programming, maintaining resident records, and using data insights to tailor activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate from a recognized Therapeutic Recreation, Recreation & Leisure Studies, Gerontology, Health Sciences program or diploma/degree in health and wellness activities.
• Minimum of one year leadership experience in a residential care or related setting is required.
• CPR/First Aid certification is required and a valid driver’s license is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Leads the planning and delivery of diverse recreation programs to support resident wellness, engagement and quality of life.
• Oversees and mentors the recreation team, ensuring safety and regulatory compliance.
• Maintains resident profiles and assessments; uses Welbi insights to adapt programming.
• Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams and family councils to enhance resident experiences.
• Plans evening and weekend programs and manages program budgets.
