Job summary

Brandt Group of Companies is seeking a Service Technician based in Chetwynd, BC, to repair and maintain construction and forestry equipment and attachments. The role reports to the Fort St.

John Construction and Forestry Location and focuses on diagnosing and repairing machinery to keep customers productive. You will work with John Deere Service Advisor and parts catalogs, demonstrate strong customer service, and meet physical demands.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment.
• Certified Journeyperson in the construction & forestry equipment technician trade or equivalent.
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel.
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing).
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate the working condition of equipment, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair equipment.
• Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently.
• Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems.
• Accurately document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken.
• Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards.
• Use John Deere Service Advisor to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis.
• Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel.
• Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required.

Brandt is currently seeking a Service Technician based in Chetwynd, reporting to the Fort St. John Construction and Forestry Location. This position is responsible for the repair and maintenance of construction and forestry based equipment and attachments.

What You Will Be Responsible For

• Certified Journeyperson in the construction & forestry equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
• Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
• Must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with customers, the service team, and branch personnel
• Must be able to meet physical demands (climbing, overhead lifting/postures, prolonged standing, sensory processing, fine motor control)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
