Job summary

Brandt is seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our St-Augustin Construction & Forestry location to perform diagnostics, service maintenance and repair work on customer and dealer‑owned equipment. You will document all actions on work orders, use John Deere Service Advisor, and ensure safety, quality and timely service while collaborating with a skilled team dedicated to strong customer support.

Qualifications

  • Outstanding knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Strong diagnostics and calibration skills with computer aptitude.
  • Good time-management and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and customer-service orientation.
  • Collaborative team player with a safety focus.
  • Apprentice or Journeyperson in heavy duty equipment trade preferred.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

  • Efficiently and effectively evaluate the working condition of, diagnose, assemble/disassemble, order parts for, and repair heavy duty equipment
  • Use secondary materials and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Use related instruments, hand and power tools, secondary equipment, and computer systems
  • Accurately and completely document on work orders all machine information, actions taken, and time taken
  • Continually assess service task hazards and ensure work is performed safely, and to accepted standards
  • Use computer applications and information systems (i.e. John Deere Service Advisor) to document maintenance, inspection, and diagnosis
  • Use parts catalogues to locate parts, and order parts from parts personnel
  • Road test equipment and check attachment operation as required

Description

Brandt is currently seeking a Heavy Equipment Technician for our St-Augustin Construction & Forestry location.

This position is responsible for performing basic/complex diagnostics, service maintenance and repair work on customer and/or dealer-owned equipment on an efficient basis.

What You Will Be Responsible For

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsperience
  • Demonstrated diagnostic skills to understand mechanical and technical equipment repair needs.
  • Previous mechanical experience in a heavy equipment environment is preferred
  • Enrolled as an Apprentice or certified Journeyperson in the heavy Duty Equipment technician trade or equivalent designated trade preferred
  • Must be committed to customer service and service excellence
