Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care is seeking a dedicated housekeeping and laundry assistant to support residents across its campuses in the Greater Toronto Area. Reporting to the Facility Manager, you will perform cleaning and laundry tasks efficiently while considering residents’ comfort and needs.

The role emphasizes teamwork, attention to safety, and a respectful, inclusive work environment within a renowned non‑profit organization dedicated to culturally appropriate geriatric care.

Qualifications

• Able to perform heavy lifting tasks and visual acuity for inspecting linens and to ensure cleaning tasks are performed to standard.
• Some experience in institutional housekeeping or laundry is an asset.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be comfortable using computer/phone applications.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English.
• Ability to communicate in Chinese an asset.

Responsibilities

• Under the direction of the Facility Manager, responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry tasks in an efficient and cooperative manner, and with due consideration for the needs and comfort of the residents.
