Job summary

Yee Hong Centre for Geriatric Care in Mississauga is seeking a dedicated Housekeeping/Laundry Aide to support residents' comfort and dignity. Under the Facility Manager, you will perform housekeeping and laundry tasks efficiently and cooperatively, with attention to residents' needs.

This role requires physical stamina, ability to lift heavy items, basic computer/phone app use, and clear English communication. Chinese language ability is an asset.

Qualifications

• Ability to perform heavy lifting and inspect linens to standard.
• Experience in institutional housekeeping or laundry is an asset.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Must be comfortable using computer/phone applications.
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English; Chinese is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform housekeeping and laundry tasks efficiently and cooperatively to support residents' comfort and dignity.
• Assist with routine cleaning and maintain orderly resident areas.

Under the direction of the Facility Manager, responsible for performing housekeeping and laundry tasks in an efficient and cooperative manner, and with due consideration for the needs and comfort of the residents.

Qualifications:

• Able to perform heavy lifting tasks and visual acuity for inspecting linens and to ensure cleaning tasks are performed to standard
• Some experience in institutional housekeeping or laundry is an asset
• Excellent customer service skills
• Must be comfortable using computer/phone applications
• Satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Screen
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions in English. Ability to communicate in Chinese an asset.

• Considerable lifting, pushing, pulling, standing, walking and bending
• Exposed to chemicals, body waste, garbage

Salary Range:

$20.27 - $22.52
