Job summary

Sienna Senior Living’s Nicola Lodge Community in Port Coquitlam seeks a Recreation Aide to design and run engaging programs for residents in a long-term care setting.

You will build relationships, tailor activities to individual interests, and work under the Director of Resident Programs to promote wellbeing and belonging. This role emphasizes compassion, inclusivity, and daily opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies or related field.
• Experience working with seniors.
• Understanding of leisure principles.
• Legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Vulnerable Sector Check/Criminal Record Check required.

Responsibilities

• Plan and run daily activities to engage residents.
• Assess resident interests and needs to tailor programs.
• Maintain accurate records of programs and participation.
• Foster social interaction and lead events.
• Assist new residents with orientation to the recreation program.
