Job summary

Sienna Senior Living is seeking a part-time Recreation Aide at Weston Terrace Community in Toronto. You will design and deliver engaging activities tailored to each resident, building meaningful relationships to promote wellbeing and belonging.

You will report to the Director of Resident Programs and contribute to a vibrant, supportive home culture where residents thrive and feel valued every day.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies or related field.
• Experience working with seniors and understanding motivation concepts.
• Understanding of leisure principles.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to development and refinement of programs and initiatives.
• Prepare daily activities providing physical, cognitive and emotional enjoyment.
• Assist in assessing residents' interests, needs, and progress.
• Maintain records of programs and resident involvement per guidelines and report participation.
• Foster social interaction among residents by leading activities or events.
• Assist new residents in getting acquainted with the facility and recreation program.
