Job summary

Berkshire Care Centre in Windsor, Ontario is seeking an Assistant Director of Care (ADOC) for a full-time 12-month temporary assignment starting November 2026. The role reports to the Director of Care, provides clinical leadership, and coaches a nursing team to deliver person-centred care.

Qualifications

• Current Certificate of Competence with the College of Nurses of Ontario as Registered Nurse.
• Comprehensive knowledge of long-term care concepts and practices.
• Experience in managerial roles in LTCh settings is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction to the nursing team in all aspects of resident care and acts as In Charge in the absence of the Director of Care.
• Leads team meetings and coordinates nursing goals with the Director of Care and Staff Educator.
• Monitors and supports development and auditing of resident care plans.
• Oversees recruitment, retention, performance management, and terminations of nursing staff.
• Ensures compliance with legislative requirements and quality indicators.
