Job summary

Berkshire Care Centre in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a Director of Care (DOC) to lead the nursing team and ensure the day-to-day delivery of health care services in compliance with MOHLTC regulations.

The DOC reports to the Executive Director, manages the nursing budget, staffing, risk management, and policy implementation, while fostering a compassionate, person-centred environment and readiness for inspections and on-call rotations.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse in good standing with nursing college or equivalent license in a Canadian jurisdiction
• Minimum 1 year RN experience in long-term care
• Minimum 3 years RN managerial or supervisory experience in healthcare
• Knowledgeable of LTC legislation and Residents' Bill of Rights

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing budget and monthly variance reporting and oversee supply orders
• Provide a cheerful, energetic environment for the nursing team supporting growth and development
• Direct implementation and review of policies to meet government legislation and industry standards
• Ensure residents receive care and services per their needs and monitor quality of nursing services
• Lead risk management with incident reports, inspections, and accreditation reviews
• Participate in on-call rotation and ensure compliance with safety guidelines
