Job summary

Extendicare in Brandon, Manitoba is seeking a Recreation leader to enhance our person-centered approach. You will lead a team to engage residents in meaningful activities, drive family satisfaction, and oversee program planning and budgeting with a focus on quality of life for seniors.

Ideal candidates have recreation therapy education, strong leadership, and experience in senior care settings, with proficiency in care planning tools. This role supports community engagement and staff development.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in Recreation Therapy or Therapeutic Recreation is required.
• Minimum 1 year health care setting experience.
• 2+ years in program planning, implementation, documentation and evaluation for seniors.

Responsibilities

• Achieve resident and family satisfaction targets.
• Ensure residents participate in multiple events monthly.
• Lead, manage and motivate recreation staff and volunteers to meet objectives.
• Maintain the recreation budget and monitor expenditures.
• Collaborate to plan and implement resident programs to improve experience.
• Comply with guiding principles and regulatory requirements.
