Job summary

Baptist Housing in Kelowna, BC, is hiring a casual Resident Care Aide to support residents in Sun Pointe Village, Mill Creek, and Smith Creek Village. You will assist with daily living activities, medication reminders, hygiene, and recreation, while following the Wellness Model of Care in a collaborative team.

Responsibilities include maintaining care plans, documenting changes, and participating in training to promote resident wellness and safe living environments.

Qualifications

  • Resident Care Aide Certificate from a recognized training provider.
  • Current registration in good standing with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry.
  • Medication Administration Certificate (or equivalent).
  • Current Food Safe Certificate.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience providing care in a residential care environment preferred.

  • Provide delegated care tasks as required.
  • Support residents during move-ins and orientation.
  • Administer medication per policy.
  • Maintain and update care plans.
  • Document observations and communicate changes in condition.
  • Keep resident suites and common areas clean and tidy.
  • Follow infection control and safety protocols.
  • Foster respectful relationships with residents, families, and team members.
  • Participate in care conferences and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Engage in ongoing training and professional development.

As a Resident Care Aide in our Assisted Living and Long term care communities, Sun Pointe Village, Village at Mill Creek, and Village at Smith Creek. You will support residents with daily living activities and promote their overall well-being, all while fostering strong connections with residents, families, team members, and external partners.

About the Role

As a Resident Care Aide, you will play a critical role in delivering compassionate and person-centered care. You will support residents with daily activities such as medication reminders, bathing assistance, personal laundry, and recreational opportunities, all while fostering independence and dignity. You will follow the Wellness Model of Care and Service, working closely with the care team to create a safe, respectful, and engaging living environment. You will maintain resident care plans, ensure cleanliness in both personal and common areas, and support a culture of continuous improvement. Your responsibilities will also include communicating with healthcare partners, attending meetings, participating in training sessions, and contributing to resident wellness in all dimensions.

We offer causal hours opportunities across three vibrant Assisted living and Long term care communities:

  • Sun Pointe Village

  • Mill Creek

  • Smith Creek Village

Key Responsibilities:
Resident Support & Personal Care
  • Assist residents with daily living activities (e.g., hygiene, medication reminders, recreation)

Requirements
  • Resident Care Aide Certificate from a recognized training provider

  • Current registration in good standing with the BC Care Aide and Community Health Worker Registry

  • Minimum of 1 year experience providing care in a residential care environment preferred.

Compensation & Benefits

You will be welcomed in a warm and supportive work environment, with an hourly wage of $29.62 - $31.64.
