Job summary

Baptist Housing is seeking a Recreation Assistant in West Vancouver for a casual, team-based role focused on the well-being and independence of residents. You will deliver person-centered recreational programs within a Wellness Model of Care and collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team to enhance residents’ quality of life.

Responsibilities include planning activities, supporting meals, ensuring safety, supervising volunteers, and documenting participation.

Qualifications

  • Grade 12 completion is required.
  • Recreation Therapy Aide certificate/diploma (min 12 months).
  • Current Food Safe Certificate.
  • Current First Aid Certificate.
  • At least 1 year of experience implementing recreation programs in residential care.
  • Class 4 License is an asset.

  • Promote resident autonomy and dignity by tailoring activities to individual preferences and abilities.

As a Recreation Assistant, you are at the heart of creating joyful and engaging experiences that support the well-being and independence of our residents. This is a casual position where you’ll work as part of a multi-disciplinary team to deliver person-centered programs that align with our Wellness Model of Care.

Key Responsibilities

Requirements
  • Grade 12 completion

  • A combination of education, training, and experience may be considered, such as a Registered Care Aide certificate with an additional activity aide certificate.

Compensation & Benefits
