Southbridge Care Homes in Kemptville, ON is seeking an Activity Aide for a full-time role (8am-4pm). The position focuses on enriching residents’ lives by facilitating activities and programs, while collaborating with nursing staff to ensure safety and well-being.

The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary diploma in recreation/therapeutic recreation or related field, strong communication skills, and experience with geriatric populations. Competitive hourly wage starts at $22.53.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or related field; if enrolled, must complete within 3 years of hire date.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Experience in one-to-one and group program planning, implementation and evaluation for residents with various needs.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Ability to plan and evaluate new ideas, resident programs and volunteer initiatives.
• Experience with the geriatric population, especially those with cognitive impairments.

Responsabilités

• Plan, implement and evaluate activation programs for residents.
• Set up and transport residents to activities; monitor during programs and report changes to Supervisor/nursing staff.
• Maintain program and resident records; communicate participation to registered staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.
