Southbridge Care Homes in Kitchener, Ontario is seeking an Activity Aide for a part-time role. You will plan, implement and evaluate activation programs, assist with transport and setup, and coordinate with nursing staff to support residents.

Applicants should have a post-secondary diploma in recreation/leisure studies or related field, strong communication skills, and experience with geriatric populations. A negative vulnerable sector check and TB screening are required.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma or degree in recreation and leisure studies, therapeutic recreation, kinesiology or related field.
• Strong written and verbal communication and documentation skills.
• Experience in planning and evaluating one-to-one and group programs for both well and cognitively impaired.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Geriatric population experience, especially cognitive impairments.

Responsabilités

• Plan, implement and evaluate activation programs for individuals and groups.
• Set up activity area and transport residents; monitor behavior and report changes.
• Maintain resident and program records; communicate participation to staff.
• Collaborate with other departments to meet resident needs.
