Placements24 is seeking a dedicated Research Scientist with a biochemistry specialization to join our innovative Kimberley-based team. You will design and conduct experiments to elucidate protein/enzyme roles in disease mechanisms and contribute to therapeutic target discovery.

The ideal candidate holds a PhD with 4+ years of postdoc/industry experience, specializing in biochemical assays, protein purification, and molecular biology techniques.

Qualifications

• PhD in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, or a related life science field.
• Minimum of 4 years postdoctoral or relevant industry research experience.
• Extensive experience with biochemical assay development, enzyme kinetics, and protein purification.
• Proficiency in molecular biology techniques such as cloning, PCR, and Western blotting.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute biochemical and molecular biology experiments to investigate protein function, enzyme kinetics, and signaling pathways.
• Purify and characterize proteins using chromatography and electrophoresis.
• Develop and validate biochemical assays for high-throughput screening and mechanistic studies.
• Analyze and interpret experimental data, present findings clearly, and contribute to scientific publications.
