Placements24 is seeking an experienced Research Scientist in Kimberley to lead pre-clinical pharmacology studies, assess drug efficacy and safety, and collaborate with chemists and clinicians.

This hybrid role combines on-site lab work at our state-of-the-art facility with remote data analysis and reporting, offering opportunities to publish, obtain grants, and contribute to patient care through innovative drug development.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Pharmacology, Toxicology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years of relevant research experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry.
• Strong knowledge of drug discovery and development processes.
• Hands-on experience with a variety of pharmacological assays and models.
• Proven ability to design and execute complex experiments and analyze data rigorously.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for remote and on-site collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Design and conduct in vivo and in vitro pharmacology studies to evaluate drug candidates.
• Develop and validate novel assay systems for target engagement and efficacy.
• Analyze and report pharmacology data, including dose-response, PK/PD.
• Collaborate with chemists and biologists to advance lead optimization.
• Contribute to publications, grant proposals, and regulatory documents.
• Mentor junior researchers and provide scientific guidance.
