Job summary

CAMH in Toronto is seeking a full-time, permanent Program Officer to support the Preclinical and Molecular Sciences Divisions of the Campbell Family Mental Health Research Institute. The role provides technical and operational support to scientists to ensure smooth execution of research projects and regulatory compliance, across diverse teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of general work experience in a customer service role in a public sector setting.
• 1+ year of experience in general research or research administration.
• Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology, Biology, or related discipline.
• Hands-on laboratory experience with molecular biology techniques (PCR, Western blot, etc.).
• Knowledge of quantitative research methodologies, experimental design, and lab protocol development.
• Strong administrative and operational skills, including project management.
• Proficiency in MS Office, databases/LIS, and data analysis or bioinformatics tools.
• Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical and operational support to scientists for research projects.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and develop/update SOPs.
• Coordinate inventory, equipment maintenance, and lab workflows.
• Assist with regulatory submissions, contract processing, and milestone tracking.
• Support onboarding, training, and mentorship of staff and students.
• Liaise with Procurement and Research Services and external stakeholders.
