Job Description

The Schizophrenia Division is seeking a full-time, contract (6 months) Research Coordinator to support a grant-funded research study. The successful candidate will primarily support activities associated with the funded study while also contributing to other ongoing research activities within the study group. Research activities include clinical treatment studies, neuropsychological assessment, metabolic health research, and related clinical and translational research initiatives. This role requires expertise in clinical research coordination, participant recruitment, project management, regulatory compliance (Health Canada, GCP, REB), data management, study administration, and knowledge dissemination. Experience supporting manuscript preparation, literature reviews, systematic reviews, trainee supervision, and knowledge translation activities is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Coordinating and managing day-to-day activities associated with a grant-funded research study.
• Supporting participant recruitment, screening, informed consent, scheduling, and study visits.
• Maintaining study databases, questionnaires, logs, and research documentation using REDCap and Microsoft Office applications.
• Preparing and maintaining REB and Health Canada submissions, renewals, amendments, and study documentation.
• Conducting data entry, verification, quality assurance, and data management activities.
• Supporting literature reviews, manuscript preparation, journal submissions, conference presentations, and knowledge dissemination activities.
• Assisting with data management, summary reporting, database maintenance, and research-related analyses using statistical software such as R, SPSS, SAS, or similar programs.
• Training, supervising, and mentoring students, volunteers, and research personnel.
• Contributing to other ongoing research activities within the study group, including publication support, regulatory activities, project coordination, and knowledge translation.
• Maintaining comprehensive and compliant research documentation.
• Ensuring adherence to study protocols, standard operating procedures, regulatory requirements, and institutional policies.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Master's Degree in Psychology, Epidemiology, Neuroscience, Health Sciences, Health Services Research, or a related discipline with a combination of two (2) or more years of progressive research experience.

Experience in clinical or health research coordination, participant recruitment, data collection, and project management is required. Experience with REDCap, Microsoft Office Suite, and research database management is required. Knowledge of REB processes, Health Canada regulations, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) is required.

Experience supporting literature reviews, systematic/scoping reviews, and manuscript preparation is required. Experience using statistical software such as R, SPSS, SAS, or similar programs for research data management, reporting, and analysis is required.

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellent organizational, communication (oral/written), and interpersonal skills, along with strong problem-solving abilities and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. The candidate must demonstrate the ability for self-directed learning, multitasking, and producing high-quality work within deadlines.

Experience conducting wet-lab research procedures, including biological specimen processing and laboratory documentation, is considered an asset. Experience working in mental health, schizophrenia, or hospital-based research settings is preferred. Candidates require the ability to work effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Bilingualism (French/English) or proficiency in a second language would be an asset.

Salary Range: $37.51 per hour - $50.60 per hour
