About the Role:
The Research Coordinator will be responsible for the coordination of a research study that aims to understand how markers of diet and exercise during pregnancy impact multiple measures of brain and behavioural health in the children. The position will also involve coordinating smaller scale studies that investigate behavioural and physiological components of parent-infant interactions.

The Research Coordinator will:

  • Lead and manage study recruitment and participant retention;
  • Test participants (pregnant women, infants and young children) in the laboratory;
  • Ongoing coordination of study activities and day-to-day project management tasks, timelines, and deliverables;
  • Develop and oversee data organization procedures;
  • Collect, document, and securely store consent to participate;
  • Schedule and coordinate study team meetings, and take meeting minutes;
  • Manage project team communication;
  • Help prepare and present presentations and reports in consultation with partners;
  • Assist in research ethics board renewals and amendments;
  • Help to develop processes and tools to support study staff;
  • Update study documentation as appropriate.

Key Skills and Experience:

  • A completed Master’s level Degree in a related field (e.g., psychology, child health, child and youth studies, epidemiology, public health);
  • Demonstrated experience working with relevant study participants;
  • Experience with large cohort studies;
  • Experience in preparing research ethics submissions;
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to work with video conferencing software (Zoom, Microsoft Teams) and Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook);
  • Professionalism, self motivation, and ability to work independently and as part of a team;
  • Excellent attention to detail;
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with study participants in a respectful, patient and compassionate manner;
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and time management skills.

Preferred or Asset Skills:

  • Experience physiological data acquisition;
  • Knowledge of and experience with Qualtrics survey software;
  • Experience with statistical software (e.g., SPSS, SAS, R Studio);
  • Quantitative data management

Salary and Total Rewards:

  • Research Assistant Rate Schedule, Master’s Complete Rate ($50,050-$55,000)

This is a temporary research position that includes:

  • Health & Dental Benefits: Comprehensive extended health, dental, and vision coverage.
  • Vacation: Up to 2 weeks per year, in addition to university holidays.
