Qualifications

  • High school completion with job-related options and four years of related experience; Master’s degree or higher preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support regulatory coordination for ethics and regulatory approvals and renewals.
  • Maintain amendment/deviation logs and ensure compliance with requirements.
  • Prepare and submit applications to Ethics Board, RITHIM, Health Canada and other agencies.
  • Assist in day-to-day research operations, data entry, and coordination.
  • Organize research files, ensure data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate meetings, recruitment, and team communication.
  • Collect, input, and manage research data and perform analyses.
  • Assist with study materials and follow-ups.
  • Prepare reports and assist with grants and budgeting.

Salary: $23.13 to $33.29 per hourplus vacation pay

Qualifications

MINIMAL FORMAL EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a health related study area, including laboratory analysis techniques.

OR

  • Completion of a Community College course in a related discipline with one years = directly-related experience.

OR

  • High school completion with job-related options with a minimum of four years = directly-related experience.
  • Completion or near-completion of a Master’s degree or higher (e.g. MD, PhD) in a health-related field is preferred.

EXPERIENCE:

  • One year of directly related experience (including clinical research coordination/involvement) is required.
  • Experience in clinical medicine is preferred.
  • An acceptable equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize effectively and meet deadlines are required.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data collection and analysis is required.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements are required.
  • Demonstrated ethical conduct and adherence to research guidelines and regulations is required.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to manage work within time and budget constraints is required.
  • Proficiency in research methods is required.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is required.
  • Willingness and ability to accommodate surgery/surgeons schedules is required.
  • A satisfactory work record, including satisfactory attendance and punctuality, is required.

OTHER JOB RELATED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Working knowledge of statistical analysis tools (e.g., Excel, GraphPad, R) is an asset.
Key responsibilities

Research Ethics & Regulatory Coordination:

  • Support regulatory coordination for ethics and regulatory approvals, including initial submissions, amendments/deviations, and annual renewals.
  • Maintain amendment/deviation logs and ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Assist in preparation and submission of applications to Research Ethics Board, RITHIM, Health Canada and other applicable agencies.
  • Support regulatory coordination for ethics and regulatory approvals, including initial submissions, amendments/deviations, and annual renewals.
  • Maintain amendment/deviation logs and ensure compliance with all requirements.
  • Assist in preparation and submission of applications to Research Ethics Board, RITHIM, Health Canada and other applicable agencies.

Research Administration & Operations:

  • Support day-to-day research operations, including data entry, data/sample collection, and administrative coordination.
  • Organize and maintain research files and databases, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Coordinate research activities such as meeting scheduling, participant recruitment, and team communication.

Data Collection & Analysis:

  • Collect, input, and manage research data in relevant systems, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in data analysis using appropriate research methods.
  • Conduct literature reviews and stay current with emerging research and trends.

Study Implementation & Materials:

  • Assist in implementing research protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain study materials, including consent/assent forms, data collection tools, case report forms, source documents, and SOPs.
  • Distribute and collect study questionnaires, extract medical chart data, manage study samples, and conduct patient follow-ups.

Reporting & Communication:

  • Support preparation of research reports, presentations, and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to discussions on research design, methodology, and process improvements.
  • Assist with grant applications, setup of new grant accounts, and tracking of funding.
  • Provide general administrative support, including file organization, correspondence, and scheduling.

Other:

  • Assist in onboarding new staff if applicable in the future.
  • May be required to perform related duties not exceeding skills and capabilities as required .
