Description

The Department of Paediatrics in the Cumming School of Medicine invites applications for a Research Assistant. This full-time fixed-term position is for approximately 6 months (based on grant funding), with the possibility of extension.

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant (RA) to provide clinical research support to the Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) at the Alberta Children's Hospital. This program supports various clinical trials across multiple departments, including Phase II-IV trials initiated by industry and investigators.

Reporting to the Principal Investigator.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Reviewing inclusion/exclusion criteria with PI, obtaining consent, supporting study procedures, completing surveys, data entry, supply management, and regulatory binder management.
• Patient screening and recruitment.
• Managing and maintaining study databases.
• Supporting collection of laboratory samples.
• Collecting and entering data from medical records and questionnaires.
• Tracking study visits and protocol tasks for participants.
• Maintaining regulatory documents.
• Adhering to study-specific and site SOPs for daily tasks and procedures.

Qualifications / Requirements:

• Master's Degree preferred, or equivalent experience in pediatric research, clinical trials, or a related health field.
• Experience with RedCap required.
• Consent experience is an asset.
• Excellent communication skills in English.
• Strong organizational skills, ability to work independently, multi-task, and coordinate with others.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and research databases.
• TCPS2 certification required; GCP and Health Canada Division 5 certifications are assets.
• Experience with Connect Care (EPIC) is an asset.
