CBRE in Halifax seeks a Research Analyst to support the Atlantic Canada Office, Industrial, and Retail markets. This in-person role requires regular office presence in Halifax and involves gathering and analyzing core commercial real estate data.

You will support the research team by producing market reports and client presentations, tracking trends, and assisting with data collection and QA processes. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred.

  • Ability to handle and manipulate large amounts of data; intermediate Microsoft Office skills.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in enforcing due diligence procedures for quality and production of real estate data, quarterly statistics, and related reports.
  • Maintain CBRE's internal leasing/sales database by gathering and inputting data on properties, transactions, tenants, and developments.
  • Gather and produce accurate real estate information to determine market projections and trends.
  • Track and analyze market trends; produce ad hoc and quarterly written reports based on trends.
  • Coordinate and complete ad hoc broker requests.
  • Create and analyze market statistics and client presentations and reports.
  • Answer zoning and official plan questions related to permitted uses.
  • Record comparable lease and sale transactions for appraisals, valuation, and research.
  • Establish key contacts in real estate industry with owners, landlords, brokers, researchers, and clients.

CBRE is looking for a Research Analyst to join our Halifax branch as a part of the research team that supports the Atlantic Canada Office, Industrial, and Retail markets. This is an in-person role and requires someone in Halifax that can be in the office regularly.

As a CBRE Research Analyst, you’ll support the research team by performing certain regular tasks around the collection and analysis of core commercial real estate data, as well as a range of activities that contribute to and support the team's production and delivery of research materials.

What You’ll Do
  • Assist in enforcing and adhering to due diligence procedures related to the quality and production of real estate data, quarterly statistics and related reports.
  • Maintain CBRE's internal leasing/sales database by gathering and inputting data on newly available properties, transactions, tenants, tenants in the market, and new developments.
  • Gather and produce accurate real estate-related information to determine market projections and trends.
  • Track and analyze market trends; produce ad hoc and quarterly written reports based on developing trends.
  • Coordinate and complete ad hoc broker requests.
  • Create and analyze market statistics and corresponding materials, including the production of client presentations and reports.
  • Answer various zoning and official plan-related questions usually pertaining to permitted uses.
  • Obtain and record comparable lease and sale transactions for property specific appraisals, valuation and research.
  • Establish key contacts in the real estate industry, including with owners, landlords, external brokers and researchers, and clients.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

What You’ll Need
  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized college or university, preferably in real estate, economics, finance, or geography. In lieu of a degree, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • High attention to detail, with strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable, and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.
  • Demonstrates good judgment in applying company policies and is dependable to deliver high-quality work when handed time-sensitive tasks.
  • Resourceful and proactive self-motivated individual.
  • Possess a positive work attitude and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to handle and manipulate large amounts of data. Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint and Word).
