Job summary

Glencore Canada is seeking an Underground Electromechanic Class II at Raglan Mine Site in Quebec. You will repair, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical/electronic systems on heavy mining equipment, with a 14/14 rotation (2 weeks on, 2 weeks off) and access to comprehensive benefits.

The role requires a professional electro-mechanics degree and at least five years of experience, plus a valid driver’s license and explosives permit.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in the mechanics of mobile mining equipment or in electromechanics.
• Ability to operate heavy mining equipment.
• Valid driver's license and a general explosives permit.
• Experience with remote operating systems (asset).
• Completed the modular training for mining workers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 (asset).

Responsibilities

• Repair electrical components and circuits of a fleet of heavy equipment and a fleet of mining equipment.
• Troubleshooting, routine repairs, preventive maintenance, breakage analysis, parts inspection, and telemetry maintenance.
• Install telemetry and proximity sensing systems.
• Maintain and calibrate scales on underground trucks and some surface equipment.
• Perform fleet maintenance according to scheduled plans.
• Work on preventive maintenance of equipment.

How You Contribute To Our World

• Repair electrical components and circuits of a fleet of heavy equipment and a fleet of mining equipment.
• Perform troubleshooting, routine repairs, preventive maintenance, breakage analysis, parts inspection, implementation, and maintenance of telemetry on fleet equipment as well as other related tasks related to the maintenance of the electrical/electronic circuits of fleet equipment.
• Install telemetry and proximity sensing systems.
• Manage the maintenance and calibration of scales on the fleet of underground trucks as well as some surface equipment.
• Perform fleet maintenance according to scheduled plans.
• Work on preventive maintenance of equipment.

Profile Required

• Professional degree in electro‑mechanics of automated systems or in a related field, combined with at least five (5) years of experience in the mechanics of mobile mining equipment or in electromechanics.
• Be able to operate heavy equipment.
• Possess a valid driver's license and a general explosives permit.
• Have experience with remote operating systems (asset).
• Have completed the modular training for mining workers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 7 (asset).
