Job summary

Glencore Canada is seeking a Surface Heavy Equipment Mechanic (Class II) to join our Raglan Mine Site team. You will perform maintenance and repairs on heavy and light mining equipment, ensuring safety and reliability in a remote northern location.

This permanent, unionized role offers a 14/14 rotation, comprehensive benefits including medical and pension, and a supportive, close-knit work environment with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• Holder of a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Construction Equipment Mechanics with five years of relevant experience.
• Experience on engines, transmissions, electrical and hydraulic systems.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of Caterpillar, Volvo and Western truck equipment is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance on heavy and light equipment assigned to mining operations.
• Repair heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, motor graders, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Troubleshoot, perform routine repairs, preventative maintenance, breakdown analysis and parts inspection.
• Execute the schedule proposed by your supervisor.

Reporting to the Mobile Equipment Maintenance Supervisor, you will have the opportunity to work in a safe, unique, and motivating environment. Your main duties will be:

• Perform maintenance on heavy and light equipment assigned to mining operations.
• Repair heavy equipment such as wheel loaders, motor graders, trucks, forklifts, etc.
• Perform troubleshooting, routine repairs, preventative maintenance, breakdown analysis and parts inspection.
• Execute the schedule proposed by your supervisor.

Profile Required

• Holder of a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Construction Equipment Mechanics or equivalent, combined with five (5) years of relevant experience in the maintenance and repair of heavy and light equipment.
• Experience in the maintenance of components related to engines, transmissions as well as the electrical and hydraulic systems is required.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Knowledge of Caterpillar, Volvo and Western truck equipment is an asset.
