Job summary

Lawtons in Halifax is seeking a Grocery Clerk to perform the full range of duties in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment. You will help customers, stock shelves, and maintain clean store areas while complying with safety protocols.

The role requires independent work, strong communication, ability to lift up to 20 lbs, and availability between 10pm and 8am with shifts from midnight to 8am.

• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• May be required to lift to 20lbs and stand for long periods.
• Available to work between 10pm and 8am (midnight to 8am shifts).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Food Safety Protocols, SOPs, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs.
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock per inventory control procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.
• Increase store sales by promoting featured products.
• Maintain back shop and retail floor; keep areas clean and presentable per Company requirements.
• Prepare customer orders as required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in the training of junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
