Sobeys in Canada is seeking a Grocery Clerk to perform the full range of duties in a fast-paced retail environment, delivering friendly, efficient service and keeping shelves stocked.

You will work independently, communicate clearly, lift up to 20 lbs, stand long periods, and participate in junior staff training while upholding food safety and store standards.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Food Safety Protocols, SOPs, and Health and Safety guidelines.
• Receive, order, and merchandise stock per inventory procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet shopper needs.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales.
• Perform back shop and floor maintenance; keep areas clean.
• Prep customer orders as required.
• Assist in training junior staff.

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
