Job summary

Foodland is seeking a Grocery Clerk to deliver professional, accurate and timely service while upholding Food Safety Protocols and company standards. The role focuses on customer service, stock handling, and promoting products to drive store sales.

Responsibilities include inventory control, back shop and floor maintenance, and assisting junior staff. The candidate should be able to work nights (10pm–8am) and lift up to 20 lbs as required.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• May be required to lift up to 20 lbs, stand long periods, and perform physical work.
• Shifts available between 10pm and 8am (midnight to 8am).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Food Safety Protocols, SOPs, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock per inventory procedures
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance; keep area clean and presentable per company requirements
• Prep customer orders
• Process department shrink
• Participate in training of junior staff
• Other duties as required

The Grocery Clerk is responsible for carrying out the full range of duties of the position in a professional, responsible, accurate and timely fashion. The Clerk will deliver exceptional customer service, foster customer loyalty, fulfill customer needs, and actively contribute to an environment of employee and customer engagement.

Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, and merchandise stock in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
