Job summary

Driving Force Fleet Solutions in Fort St John, BC is seeking a Rental Consultant to warmly greet customers and manage reservations, quotes, agreements, payments and paperwork. You will inspect vehicles with customers, ensure clear terms, and prepare units for delivery with maintenance, fueling, and cleaning as needed.

Requirements include at least 1 year in retail customer service, strong interpersonal and computer skills, organization, and a valid Class 5 license; pre-employment checks apply.

Qualifications

• 1 year of retail customer-service experience preferred.
• Experience in the automotive or rental industry is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Strong computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask.
• Ability to comply with The Driving Force Driver and Vehicle Safety Program.
• Clear pre-employment security clearance.
• Ability to prioritize and multitask with keen attention to detail.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and handle calls, emails, and queries professionally.
• Manage reservations, generate quotes for short-term rentals, finalize rental agreements, process payments, and complete paperwork.
• Keep customers informed about rental terms and obtain signatures on documents.
• Conduct thorough walk-around inspections with customers and obtain signatures.
• Perform daily checks on the drop box, process returns, assess vehicle condition, and advise on required maintenance.
• Ensure vehicle availability and prepare units for delivery, including driving, cleaning, and fueling.

We are currently looking for aRental Consultant to join our rentals team at Driving Force Fleet Solutions in our Fort St John location.

What You’ll Do:

• Warmly greets customers and handles phone calls, emails, and queries with professionalism and efficiency.
• Provide exceptional service throughout the rental process, from managing reservations, generating quotes for short-term rentals, finalizing rental agreements, processing payments, and completing necessary paperwork.
• Maintain consistent communication with customers, ensuring they are well-informed about rental terms and conditions before requesting signatures on all relevant documents.
• Conduct thorough walk-around inspections with customers, obtaining their authorization via signature.
• Perform daily checks on the drop box, processing rental returns, evaluating vehicle’s condition upon return, and offering recommendations for necessary maintenance if repairs are deemed necessary.
• Ensure vehicle availability and prepare rental units for delivery, including driving, cleaning, and fueling vehicles as needed.

What You Bring:

• 1 year's retail customer-service experience is preferred.
• Experience in the automotive or rental industry is an asset.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Strong computer skills and you know your way around Microsoft Office.
• You are highly organized, detail-oriented, and adept at multitasking.
• Abstract acceptable to The Driving Force Group of Companies Driver and Vehicle Safety Program.
• Clear pre-employment security clearance.
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task with keen attention to detail.
• A valid Class 5 Driver’s License
