Job summary

Workland in Lachute, QC invites applications for a part-time custodian role responsible for maintenance and upkeep of an educational facility, working Wednesdays from 6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., at 455 R. Court.

The position requires at least three years of relevant experience and knowledge of building systems (HVAC, lighting, alarms) with basic trades. Salary is $25.89 per hour; immediate supervisor is the school principal.

Qualifications

• Three (3) years of pertinent experience.
• General knowledge of operation of heating, ventilation, lighting and alarm systems overseen by a caretaker.
• Basic knowledge of the main building trades.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and preventive upkeep of educational facilities.
• Organize and coordinate maintenance work.
• Oversee maintenance performed by others, coordinating with staff.

NATURE OF THE WORK

• The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in being responsible for carrying out the maintenance work as well as the preventive and physical upkeep of an educational institution or building.
• The role also consists in organizing and carrying out such work as well as coordinating and overseeing it when it is carried out with or by other employees.

REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS

• Have three (3) years of pertinent experience.
• Practical skills: Have a general knowledge of the operation of the heating, ventilation, lighting and alarm systems that a caretaker oversees.
• Have a basic knowledge of the main building trades.

Status of Position: part time (only Wednesdays)

Salary Scale: $25,89 per hour

Schedule: 6:45 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. (Wednesday)
