Job summary

Toromont Cat is seeking Remote Site Technicians to safely diagnose, repair and assemble Caterpillar mining and earthmoving equipment at client sites across Eastern Canada on a 14-day rotation.

In this full-time role you will use Caterpillar testing equipment, maintain service reports, and uphold health and safety standards while delivering excellent customer relations. The position offers competitive total rewards and opportunities for training with Toromont's teams.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary education in heavy equipment mechanics or related field.
• Provincial Red Seal certification required.
• Minimum 2 years post-apprenticeship experience as a technician in repair/service of heavy construction/mining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose mechanical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment.
• Repair and/or assemble Caterpillar earthmoving equipment within established timelines and quality standards.
• Prepare service reports and documentation accurately and timely.
• Maintain good customer relations and adhere to safety policies.

In a typical day, YOU will:

• Participate in safe, environmentally sound and healthy work behaviors at all times, in support of Toromont’s Health and Safety Policies, Programs and initiatives
• Diagnose mechanical problems using Caterpillar testing equipment
• Repair and/or assemble allied or competitive Caterpillar earthmoving equipment as required within established time lines and quality standards
• Prepare service reports and service documentation in an accurate and timely manner
• Participate as an integrated member of onsite mechanical staff
• Maintain good customer relations
• Comply with company and customer health and safety policies and procedures

Must-haves for this role:

• Post-secondary education in the field of heavy equipment mechanics, heavy vehicle mechanics or heavy engine mechanics
• Minimum 2 years of post apprenticeship experience as a Technician in repair and service of heavy construction equipment and/or heavy mining equipment
• Provincial red seal license
• Available for 14 day rotational schedules
